Info Tech, Inc. Participates in 2007 Transportation Vision Summit

Gainesville, Fla., June 5, 2007 — Eight national organizations have joined in an effort to create a new national “vision” for transportation to maintain America’s place in the world economy and way of life. On May 21-23, 2007, 250 representatives of both public and private sector transportation and industry organizations convened at a national conference called the “Transportation Vision and Strategy for the 21 st Century” to lay a common framework on which this new transportation vision can be based. Info Tech was represented at this meeting.

Info Tech, a developer of highway construction management software used in over 40 state DOTs, was invited based on its 20+ year history as a contractor for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).

Other organizations involved in the initiative are AAA, American Council of Engineering Companies, American Public Transportation Association, American Road and Transportation Builders Association, American Trucking Associations, Associated General Contractors, and the Association of American Railroads

“Info Tech’s involvement in this summit is a reflection of our decades-long commitment to America’s roadways and our partnership with the transportation community in developing world-class solutions to meet their evolving requirements,” said Joe Phelan, director of marketing and sales, and Info Tech’s representative at the meeting. “The penetration that our software has in the US markets is unmatched, and these major organizations recognize that private sector partners will have a large impact on the future of transportation in this country.”

The group met to strategize and plan for the future. The vision of the surface transportation group included statements about growth and environmental concerns.

The vision stated, “ To meet the transportation needs of the present and pass on a better world to our grandchildren, expanding the system’s capacity to handle traffic must be accomplished while simultaneously reducing its environmental impacts.”

“Info Tech will continue to be a key player in road construction management through our software applications,” said Phelan. “We take this responsibility seriously and pledge to continue to develop applications to meet the needs of our fellow citizens.”
