Constructech Magazine Honors BidX.com and Info Tech, Inc. as Technology Enablers

CHICAGO – August 24, 2005: Constructech Magazine honored BidX.com and Info Tech, Inc. as technology enablers for their role in helping a contracting company achieve greater success and profitability. MCM Corp. of Miami was given the Vision Award for their contracting work which was facilitated by software applications from BidX.com and Info Tech.

MCM has developed a streamlined automated approach to bid estimation and bid generation that includes the use of Expedite, a bid management application from Info Tech, and Bid Express, an on-line bidding information exchange from BidX.com. MCM Corporation is a general contractor in South Florida, whose projects include commercial, residential, civil and educational construction.

The Constructech Vision Awards honor companies that have realized the advantages of applying modern technologies to their everyday businesses. In addition to recognizing builders and contractors, the program also recognizes the software suppliers that have enabled the company to achieve its goals. The awards were presented at a banquet in Chicago.

Expedite is an electronic bidding application that includes modules for both agencies and contractors. Expedite is the cornerstone of establishing a paperless bid letting system. It assists contractors by reducing data entry and its associated errors and by allowing for electronic bid submission.

Bid Express is a web-based bidding information service developed exclusively for the road construction industry. By using Bid Express, contractors can save time needed for preparing and submitting bids and bid bonds on paper, and travel time and expenses in attending lettings. Simple screens allow contractors to quickly scan all current lettings. Users have access to lettings from all state transportation agencies using Bid Express. Contractors pay a minimal monthly subscription fee for the basic service, and can elect additional add-on, bidding-related services, including access to electronic plan sheets and a bid tabs analysis service.
