GAINESVILLE, Fla. – November 8, 2002: Info Tech, Inc., a Gainesville-based statistical consulting and software development company, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on November 14, 2002. A company-wide luncheon will be held to commemorate the event at the headquarters, with satellite offices participating via teleconference.
“We have worked together to reach a milestone very few companies achieve: 25 years of existence, and in our unbiased opinion, 25 years of excellence,” Dr. James T. McClave, president of Info Tech, Inc., said.
Info Tech, Inc. is the market leader in highway construction management software and its reputation for excellence in statistical consulting is nationally known. The company employs 150 professionals. The majority of the employees work in the Gainesville headquarters. The company also maintains offices in Atlanta, Jefferson City, Mo. and Austin, Texas.
Info Tech's software products are installed in 38 state departments of transportation, several hundred cities and counties and two foreign countries.

McClave founded Info Tech, Inc. in 1977. He was a statistics professor at the University of Florida, and started the company to offer statistical consulting services with an emphasis on detecting collusive activities in sealed-bid markets. The company then developed a software application to offer collusion detection tools to its clients. At the request of its customers, most of which were state transportation agencies, Info Tech began developing additional software applications for highway construction management. Dr. Thomas P. Rothrock, a former professor of economics at the University of Florida and pioneer in the development of computerized techniques to detect collusion in sealed bid markets, joined McClave shortly after Info Tech was founded, and has headed up the software systems division since its inception. McClave continues to direct Info Tech's consulting division.
