GAINESVILLE, Fla. – August 29, 2006: Info Tech is proud to announce that it currently has 20 employees who have earned the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
To be eligible for a PMP Credential, individuals must first meet specific educational and project management experience requirements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. The final step to becoming a PMP is passing a rigorous multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess and measure a candidate’s ability to apply project management knowledge in the following six domains: initiating the project, planning the project, executing the project, monitoring and controlling the project, closing the project, and professional and social responsibility.
“Several years ago, Info Tech made a company-wide commitment to improve our project management efforts in order to produce higher quality products and services for our customers,” said Tom Rothrock, Info Tech’s senior vice president. “I am proud that so many of our employees embraced this challenge and put forth the personal effort to achieve this important designation. It is a testament to their drive and their dedication to our customers.”
According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, “Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project. Project management is comprised of five project management process groups – initiating processes, planning processes, executing processes, monitoring and controlling processes, and closing processes – as well as nine knowledge areas. These nine knowledge areas center on management expertise in integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk management and procurement.”
