Appia

graphic: Appia logoAppia is a web application designed for capital improvement and construction programs in cities, counties and other similarly sized agencies.

The Appia construction management system effectively manages project cost estimation, proposal development, advertising, electronic/Internet bidding and/or construction management. By providing these vital processes in a web environment, the Appia system offers a flexible and complete solution to local agencies. It is a tool that assists all of the participants in a capital improvement project, from field inspectors to agency directors, allowing for increased communication and collaboration, and improved reporting and oversight. As budgets shrink, staff size decreases and the demand for roadways grows, the Appia system helps agencies build and maintain their infrastructure more quickly and safely for the citizens they serve.

Appia is the only application that interfaces with the Bid Express on-line bidding exchange for sealed, secure on-line bidding. More than 3,000 contractors in the US and Canada use the Bid Express on-line bidding exchange for Internet bidding. Agencies that implement the Bid Express system will see the value of their investment increase dramatically when Appia software is also installed.

Is your agency effectively analyzing bid results? To ensure you are getting the most for your construction dollars, the Appia system allows agencies to view bid history data to look for trends and patterns in the bids you receive. Functionality like this was once only available to agencies with large budgets. Appia software brings it to you with a simple click.

Agencies may elect to implement some or all of the functionality within the Appia system. Estimation, bid management and analysis, electronic and Internet bidding, and construction management may be selected in any combination to meet your agency’s needs.

The Appia construction management system is named for the Appian Way, the first and most famous road built by the ancient Romans. At more than 350 miles long, the road was vital to commerce, since it was the main route to Greece; it was hailed "the queen of long distance roads." Today's roads and highways are just as vital to society. Appia software allows agencies to focus on the progress, rather than the process, of road and bridge building.

PTP's Director of Construction Services can log in and have access to the project's data without having to travel to the various job sites around the state of Texas. The same applies to our partners. I can run any project status report for any of the projects in Appia, without having to call someone on the project to run that report.
