Scheduling/Project Management System (SPMS)

The Indiana Department of Transportation and Info Tech have co-designed and developed SPMS, a full lifecycle client/server Project Management Information System which is driven off a centralized, enterprise-level database. The objectives of the system are to improve the project scheduling and planning activities of a transportation agency from project concept (pre-proposal) to project closure (open to traffic), including support of historical analyses.

SPMS Version 2.0a contains enhancements to the core scheduling and project management functionality include project permit tracking, a one-way interface to Trns•port CES, and new distributed processing functionality for customizable report templates and process scheduling.

SPMS is owned the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The joint efforts of Info Tech and INDOT to develop a client/server project scheduling and coordination product lead the way in fully utilizing today’s information technology to provide real and relevant solutions to DOT project scheduling management needs.
