1. Recruiting Is About Finding The Right Fit For You And Us

by Debbie Bryant, Director, Human Resources

At Info Tech, we take great care in finding the right people to become a part of our company family. Our hiring team knows that the right hire for any position, whether entry-level or executive, is one of the most important decisions we make. So, what do we look for? While each position will have minimum levels of competencies, basic alignment with our vision, principles and core values is paramount to all other requirements. And our goal is to hire people who we can champion in their professional growth and that will be Info Tech champions for the long-term.

Our culture reflects these values – we embrace our neat but casual dress code, our work-family life balance, our goal of always striving to improve and put our customers’ success first, and our environment of respectful and enthusiastic discussions and support for any member of our company family. We know that alignment with our core values and cultural fit are the best predictors of whether someone will thrive here.

As such, we look for people that make customer service a top priority – a significant factor that has, and will continue to be, what makes us successful. We want professionals that do not need much management - self-starters and critical thinkers. Those that work with a passion for urgency and a very low threshold for mediocrity excel at Info Tech. Finally, we need candidates that work well within cross-functional teams and many levels of the organization. As a smaller-sized company that serves thousands of clients in many markets, our superstars are those that are team catalysts, learn the business and are respected across the company.

What happens when you apply for a position at Info Tech? If a resume passes an initial screen with both Human Resources and the hiring manager, we will invite the candidate for a phone interview. This can be with one or more members of the team. If the team decides to move forward, the candidate will be invited for an in-person interview at our offices.

During Info Tech’s in-person interviews, the hiring team for the position will go over a series of questions with the candidate. Our goal during this time is to create an organized, but relaxed atmosphere consistent with our culture, allowing the candidate and the hiring team to get to know each other. We pose situational questions for the candidate to answer, as our experience shows that finding out how someone responds to various scenarios is critical in determining whether Info Tech is the right company for the person to join. We want to give the candidate an open environment to discuss with us why he or she will prosper here and help Info Tech grow.
