We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your data from unauthorized use, access or disclosure. For example, we store the data we collect on computer systems with limited access and in controlled facilities. When we transmit certain sensitive data over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption.
If a password is used to help protect your accounts and data, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always log out before leaving an Info Tech Site or Service to protect access to your data from subsequent users.
At some Info Tech sites, Info Tech may ask you to provide personal information, such as your email address, name, home or work address, or telephone number. If you choose to make a purchase or sign up for a paid subscription service, we will ask for additional information, such as your credit card number and billing address. In order to access some Info Tech services, you will be asked to sign in with a user name and password. We only collect information of this type which is necessary to serve our legitimate business purposes, and we maintain appropriate industry standard safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of the information you have provided. When Personal Information is no longer needed by Info Tech to provide the Sites and Services to you, Info Tech will destroy or delete your Personal Information in accordance with Info Tech's Document Retention Policy, which is available for inspection or review by request.
We collect additional information about your interaction with Info Tech Sites and Services without identifying you as an individual. For example, we receive certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and access times. Occasionally, if you are a subscriber to any Info Tech services which allow you to interact with procurement or bidding opportunities, your personal information may be passed to your agency representative. For example your personal information is necessarily transmitted: in cases of bid submission over the Internet (you transmit your bid and identifying information to the agency to which you bid); in cases of posting or responding to solicitations inside the Small Business Network (you submit business contact information that is viewable by others); or when an agency develops a list of those that have downloaded plans from the Plan Room (the publishing agency will have access to your business contact information, and may or may not publish that list themselves). Additionally, sometimes certain personal information may be shared with those agencies via phone, email, or electronic transmission for business purposes during troubleshooting or other such activities essential to the operation of the Info Tech Sites or Services. If you use an Info Tech mobile device application, information that you disclose voluntarily which identifies your mobile device will be collected, but will only be disclosed to those to whom you have voluntarily provided that information.
There are certain circumstances where your business contact information may be viewable by third parties. Subscribers of the Bid Express Data Analysis Suite may view certain information entered by you that identifies your business (business contact information, bid tabulation data publicly posted by the agency to which you submit a bid). Users of the Bid Express Small Business Network provide business contact information for the purpose of advertising or responding to contract business opportunities; this information is viewable by other users of the service and to Bid Express subscribers. However, unless otherwise disclosed during collection, Info Tech, Inc. does not provide any personal information to any other third party for any purposes, including any commercial purposes, except as required by law.
Administrator Data includes the information collected as part of purchasing Info Tech Services or software, or for billing management or contact information. For example, Administrator Data includes the name, address, phone and email of the account owner and the email of the administrator, whether collected at initial registration or later during your management of the Services. To the extent that Administrator Data is also Personal Information (as described above), Administrator Data is handled by Info Tech as Personal Information for privacy and security purposes.
Depending on the particular Info Tech Site or Service on which you may have Customer Data, you may have legal or contractual obligations to third parties regarding the security or licensing of your data. Info Tech may not be bound by the same legal or contractual obligations. In those instances, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with your legal or contractual obligations, and Info Tech does not guarantee your compliance with obligations to which Info Tech is not an obligee.
Info Tech does have and does enforce a DMCA Policy. If Info Tech receives a conforming DMCA notice which is sent to Info Tech regarding your Customer Data, we may remove your Customer Data without prior notice to you, or we may forward the DMCA notice to you. Info Tech reserves the right to determine the appropriate response to such DMCA notices.
If you are a government agency of any state or of the federal government, it is possible that Info Tech may receive a FOIA (or any other 'Open Records' type) request. Info Tech is not a government agency and does not perform any state function, including without limitation the state function of storing, recording, or maintaining public records. Info Tech is not responsible in any way for any obligations you may have to comply with applicable laws or regulations relating to any government records. It is Info Tech's policy to not respond to any FOIA or Open Records request. In the event that a FOIA-type request is received pertaining to your Customer Data, Info Tech may inform you of the request and/or forward the request to you. Should a court of competent jurisdiction or a law enforcement agency order disclosure of your Customer Data under a FOIA-type request, Info Tech will only disclose Customer Data when there is a clear legal duty or court order to which there is no reasonable legal appeal.
Info Tech may occasionally hire other companies or contractors to provide limited services on our behalf, such as the processing of mailings, technical or engineering support, hosting of websites, processing of transactions, or performing statistical analysis of our Sites or Services. Those service providers will be permitted to obtain only the information they need to deliver the service. They are required by agreement to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using the information for any other purpose that delivering the service to Info Tech in accordance with Info Tech's instructions and policies. However, our vendors may use aggregate data for fraud detection to help improve their services.
We may access or disclose your Personal Information, Administrator Data, or Customer Data in order to: (a) comply with the law when there is a clear, unambiguous legal duty to do so; (b) protect the property or rights of Info Tech or our customers, including the enforcement of our agreements or policies governing your use of the services; or (c) act in a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of Info Tech employees, customers or the public.
